Semarang (23/9) – The Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang held a simulation of emergency countermeasures on a small scale known as Hot Drill. This simulation took place at runway 31 of Ahmad Yani Airport after flight operations finished, namely at 22.00 - 24.00 Western Indonesian Time.
“On simulation of this time, we create a scenario on a plane that looks normal as it landed on runway 31. However, a few moments the sound of crasher loud enough and was followed by the sound of crash bell sounded by the tower officers. That is the time PKP-PK officers act to run their tasks,” said Agus Sina, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Section Head.
The Hot Drill event involved several related units, which have important role when the emergency occurs, including the PKP-PK officers, Airport Securities, Apron Movement Control (AMC), Air Force Base, Port Health Office (KKP), Airport Operator Committee and some of the personnel who act as trouble makers or victims in such emergencies. The personnel deployed were 81 people with assisted by 14 operational vehicles.
The drill is aspired to train all personnel in fast responding to emergency condition anticipated to take place at the Airport.
